Sheila Bartlett Richardson
Sheila Bartlett Richardson of Turner grew up in Canton, Maine and moved to Turner after marrying David Richardson. Together they have four children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Sheila has her own business, A Women’s Touch interior wallpapering and painting, and has been in business over 16 years. While raising her children she picked up the sketch pencil and paintbrushes and took painting classes to enhance and expand her art horizons.
She has participated in several area art shows including: Portland Sidewalk Art Show (1), Turner Bicentennial Craft Event, Norway Sidewalk Art Show (3), Winthrop Sidewalk Art Show (4), Waterville Sidewalk Art Show (1), Farmington Art in the Park Show (1), Turner Center for the Arts (7), Harlow Gallery, Hallowell (6), The Beauty of Color at the YMCA (1),
She has also exhibited her art at: UMA’s Mile of Art in Augusta,,12th Annual Solstice Celebration in Auburn, Turner Village Crossing Building in Turner, Western Maine Community Action in East Wilton, USM / LA’s Atrium Gallery Juried Biennial Exhibit Interpretations: Memory Movement and Time at Neuromuscular Rehab, Lewiston
Sheila was a member of the Turner Center for the Arts (now closed) and exhibited there 7 times in the 21⁄2 years it was open. She is a member of KVAA and currently has art on display at the Turner Village Crossing Building in Turner.
Painting has become an outlet for her creative energy and is characteristic of her life in Maine. Sheila enjoys painting scenery, animals, trees, barns, and flowers. She works with several mediums including: oils, watercolor, acrylics, and charcoal. When she is not working on her art, or at her wallpapering & painting business, she enjoys learning new things, working on her relationship with God, spending time with family and working in her flower gardens.
